Description
This doll head is from the estate of my grandmother who was a doll maker and collector. It is a fine quality vintage reproduction that has never been used and has been carefully stored for at least 20 years. I am not a doll expert but I have done my best to research the item and pass on what I know. This little doll is a reproduction of a Bahr&Proschild 585. The head is marked "585 4 Germany" with 1976 Vernon Seeley below (this is the mold maker). A
porcelain shoulder plate is included for attaching the head. The eyes are beautifully painted gray-green, lined and surrounded with lashes and a lid line. The face is expertly painted with soft tinted cheeks and eyebrows. She has molded upper teeth. The porcelain has a soft sheen to it (very smooth). The legs have little dimpled knees and defined toes with nails. Arms have dimpled elbows and defined fingers. Parts are designed to be attached to stuffed cloth body. She is an adorable little doll and will be so much fun to assemble and dress!
