This 18 inch Gretchen doll is from the Kammer & Reinhardt character series. The original dolls had Simon & Halbig manufactured heads while the design, assembly, and marketing were performed by Kammer & Reinhardt during the early 20th century. This doll
has a bisque head and composition ball jointed body.  She is pose-able but I think she should be restrung to be a bit more sturdy.
She has lovely blue glass eyes and the wig is perhaps human hair and it is glued to her head.
She will come with a slip and pantaloons but basically this is for the doll alone.   The body is the cutest little chubby body and in very good condition.
Gretchen has always been one of my favorite German Character dolls.  I know this as I have three.  Two of them were purchased 10 years apart and yet they have the same doll artist as I am drawn to her beautiful and artistically done faces.  Her first name is Polly but I can not read the last name.

*Necklace shown in photo does not come with doll.  I just forgot to take it off when I undressed her.  The slip and the pantaloons on the doll are the ones that come with her.  I had a person ask about these items.
What happened to Ebay's old way that if you asked a question they published it on the listing - I rather miss that but then lots of things I miss about the old Ebay.
