Kenwood MC-60A Microphone - Upgraded

ITEM DESCRIPTION
You are bidding on a Kenwood MC-60A microphone. There is plenty of information on the Internet for this item so I will not repeat it here. You get everything the microphone originally came with plus the following:
- Electro-Voice Cobalt 7 (Co7) professional microphone
- ATS Microphone Shock Mount (eliminates mechanical noise)
- Extended standpipe (black)
- RJ-45 male to 8-pin male cable
- RJ-45 female to 8-pin female cable
- XLR female to 8-pin male cable
- 8-Pin female to 8-pin female coiled cable
The Co7 microphone outperforms the Kenwood microphone by leaps and bounds and does not need the preamp (the preamp reduces the dynamic range). The reason is that the Co7 was designed specifically for female vocalists and jazz singers; it is design to enhance the upper end of the vocal spectrum. It did not catch on in the music industry, but is it a great communications microphone. A comparison of the two mics is provided in the pictures.
CONDITION
This in very excellent used condition and fully functional
. The microphone comes with all original parts so it can be returned to its normal configuration if desired (don’t know why anyone would want to do that). I experienced RF interference when using a 6-meter dipole directly above me in my attic. The addition of a ground wire in the microphone (see picture) eliminated the problem.
MISCELLANEOUS
This is a great microphone, but we will be moving to a retirement community that does not allow large antennas, that pretty much puts the kibosh on any serious HF operations, which is what this mic was used for (Kenwood TS-480HXbeing sold separately).
