This is a beautiful and amazing Jules Steiner reproduction doll 22 inches tall
Jules made mechanical dolls, Taufling dolls and bebe dolls on wood and composition bodies but he also sold heads to a high end French fashion house Maison Francois Simonne who put them on beautiful kid fashion bodies and styled their Victorian fashions on these dolls to model for customers. These Maison - Jules Steiner dolls are rarer to find than the Albert Marque doll and here I have a reproduction of just such one. These heads were top of the Steiner line with large eyes and long painted lashes, arms purchased from Jumeau.
This beauty features a pale porcelain head, shoulder plate and beautiful delicate bisque arms with a real kid leather French fashion body in light pink kid skin.
She has blue French pupil (large pupil like in the French antique dolls) paperweight eyes and authentic antique human hair wig with its original antique hair band wreath. She has a dress made by Florence and George in antique fabrics and laces , a small antique brass pin on her bodice and vintage drop dangle earring .
Her facial paint was artistically and exquisitely applied with even lashes and soft lightly parted lips. Perfectly blushed with bold even multi-stoke brows that are as fine as the antique doll she portrays in fact more evenly applied than most.
She also comes with a curly used synthetic wig for a different look.
