PLEASE READ! You are buying as is! Ask any questions before bidding. I am not a dealer or a shop owner just a doll lover downsizing in retirement. This is a beautiful and quality reproduction of the beloved JD Kestner “Hilda” Doll. It is marked 1979 and has the artist name and signature and if I’m reading it correctly it is Ann Cdeawoner. It is Marked #2. I do not know this doll maker but I can tell you it’s a high-quality doll. I Purchased it from my China painting teacher who had purchased it and had it made for her daughter as a young girl. The doll is loose in her joints but it’s still extremely possible and will sit. She has been that way since I purchased her. She is a heavy doll as her body is made of high-grade porcelain.She is delicately painted especially the eyes and done in the tradition of the original old dolls. She has five individual fingers and chips or cracks or breaks. She is also jointed at the wrist elbow shoulder hip knee and has a socket head which goes into the main torso of the body. The only flaw is that this doll might have is that her string is on the loose side and she has Some marks on her back from the Metal doll stands That she was once posed in. Hey simple pencil eraser would probably remove them. She where is a beautiful white cotton dress with lace sleeves and bottoms trimmed with blue bows and one in her hair. Under the dress she has the old cotton traditional under-slip also lace trimmed. She wears matching cotton pantaloons with their lace trim, the elastic of the pantaloons has lost its elasticity and could be easily remedied with elastic thread or some new elastic. Under the pantaloons are Long cotton stockings and on the feet all white high top button shoes. Her garment is quality made and beautifully finished not a cheap costume but high-quality. Her hair is a human hair wig style in the long curl of yesteryear. Her size makes her easy to display or keep safe. A wonderful doll for anyone’s collection.
