    21" French Reproduction H5 Halopeau by D Szumal
    Seeley Body with paper weight blue eyes & mohair wig - Pirced ears and earrings.
    This is a beautiful reproduction of the rare A. Halopeau H5.  When the original dolls were made by
    H. Aristride Marcelling
    Halopeau
    , he had just purchased the Eugene Barrois
    doll
    company in 1877.   In 1882 he introduced the H mold Bébé
    doll
    and it was made until January 1899 when the company went out of business. The original H mold
    dolls
    are
    rare
    and highly sought by collectors.   For the rest of us, we are quite content to find a  lovely reproduction.
    I am not familiar with the doll maker Szumal but she has done an amazing job of catching the soft facial delicacy shown in the original dolls.  She is dressed in blue silk and French lace with matching shoes and bonnet.    She is truly a lovely doll.
