This listing is for "Little Pete" a character boy doll who measures 16-1/2" tall. There is a paper advertisement with this doll I have shown. Incised on the back of his shoulder head is "Magge Head Kane, 1975". Hand written paper tag on his wrist from a previous owner, I like to keep things as they were purchased.
Magge Head Kane is a noted doll artist who specializes in portrait artist dolls and dolls that depict figures from history. Magge Head was also a co-founder of NIADA in 1963 (National Institute of American Doll Artists). Molds of her dolls were available for anyone who wanted to reproduce an original. This doll is a bisque shoulder head with porcelain arms from elbow down, fingers intact, he has a cloth body torso with upper arms and upper legs being cloth, the lower legs are porcelain with painted molded brown boots. No cracks or damage on this doll, his clothing in clean and well kept. A "sweet" face with painted brown eyes, black lashes around the eyes, brush stroked brown eye brows, he has painted closed mouth with a "smile". Auburn brown wig is secure on his head, he wears a hat that matches his outfit, clothing is well made. A great character doll for collection or display!
